Biography

James Parsons has over a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry, counseling energy clients on areas including due diligence, mineral property transactions, title examination, regulatory compliance, and title curative measures. He has both led and supported projects in Texas, Ohio, North Dakota, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

In addition to his title and transactional work, James serve as a strategic resource to the firm’s litigation team. Drawing on his deep familiarity with the industry’s operational, land, and title practices, he works alongside the firm’s litigators to develop case strategy, identify and frame dispositive title and leasehold issues, and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of competing chains of title.

James’ dual fluency in transactional practice and litigation support gives clients a distinct advantage: he understands not only how disputes are resolved in the courtroom, but how they arise in the land office and how sound title and curative work can prevent them altogether.

When not working, James is fully devoted to his favorite role: dad. He can usually be found deep in a board game with his children or attempting, with limited success, to convince the family dog to get out of the pond.
