Biography
Brad Gibbs represents clients in upstream energy transactions and complex mineral title matters, advising on a broad range of oil and gas issues including pooling, lease analysis, joint operating agreements, and title curative. His practice sits at the intersection of traditional oil and gas development and emerging land uses, where he regularly counsels clients on matters involving severed mineral and surface estates. Brad has particular experience addressing accommodation and surface use conflicts arising from solar development, data center siting, and other infrastructure projects that compete with or impact the mineral estate. He also advises on lithium and brine leasing and development, as well as general oil and gas business matters. Brad’s primary geographic focus is North Dakota, Texas, and New Mexico.
Brad is Board Certified in Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized as a top-rated energy and natural resources lawyer in Houston since 2018 by Super Lawyers. He is active in numerous oil and gas and landman industry associations and frequently speaks at energy conferences and events. His articles frequently appear in a variety of industry publications. Brad serves on the board of the West Houston Association of Professional Landmen (WHAPL) and the Houston Bar Association (HBA) Energy Law Section.
